differ in the respect that proprietors are expected to treat the individuals as members of
the family and include them in all family activities that the individual desires and that they
would find meaningful and fulfilling. The role of proprietor is widespread. You are there for
emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual support which is all dependent on the needs
of the individual living in your home. You must respect the individual’s rights and
responsibilities. Individuals are expected to be engaged in the community they are living in.
Respite and weekend homes for your individual will be arranged if that option is available,
but not all individuals have supports for community access, employment supports or
respite.
